Program:
The nonprofit sector is experiencing seismic changes and higher expectations in every arena. How are leaders of nonprofits responding with a combination of new ideas and new approaches with new approaches to long-standing questions. What are we seeing with funding, policy, workplace culture, leadership, and more, and what are some bright spots and lessons to share?
Keynote:
Kate Barr is President and CEO of Propel Nonprofits, whose mission is to fuel the impact and effectiveness of nonprofits with guidance, expertise, and capital. She provides strategic leadership in partnership with the board of directors and oversees strategic and business planning and external relations. She led the merger of Nonprofits Assistance Fund and MAP for Nonprofits in 2017 to create a premier resource for nonprofits in the region. She is a national leader, speaker, and writer on nonprofit strategy and finance and is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Minnesota Humphrey School. Before joining the organization in 2000, Kate was a bank executive and an arts administrator. She has served on numerous boards of directors, currently as board chair at the Jerome Foundation.
