Senior Commercial Interior Designer

Archimea Interior Design Services is looking for a highly qualified person who can deliver interior design projects from initial contact to occupancy, while interacting with clients, brokers, end users, and contractors. This individual must be highly motivated by the challenge to expand level of responsibility and skill. As a successful team member, it is our goal to present an opportunity of leadership as “Director of Design” within one year of employment. We believe it is important to understand our existing client needs, business processes, and future potential before taking on the Director of Design responsibilities. Archimea is a well-established commercial design firm. We provide businesses with strategic workplace solutions, by merging our interior design expertise with the client’s unique workplace needs and the personality of their business. We are a division of Suntide Commercial Realty, a fast-growing property management, brokerage, and construction firm. We develop projects separately from and in collaboration with Suntide.
 
Archimea works with a variety of project types and market segments, including corporate, education, hospitality, retail, non-profits, assisted living/ multi-family housing and government. Our central focus is the specific knowledge required for the design of space for work and human interaction. Projects vary in size and scope from small tenant improvement to large complex remodels. In all our projects we strongly emphasize teamwork, collaboration, high ethical standards, accuracy, creativity, and a strong focus on the client experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate client programming meetings, participate in design charrettes, and offer design oversight and guidance,
  • Support new and existing client relationships through effective communication and follow-up
  • Organize and oversee project flow, interacting with clients, contractors, brokers, the design team, consultants, and end-users from initial contact to occupancy
  • Develop project scope and fee proposals
  • Manage and work with design team, provide direction and assistance as needed
  • Delegate work to meet deadlines, track progress, and trouble shoot all phases while communicating effectively with all parties
  • Organize project schedule, budget, and responsibilities by managing costs and fees
  • Provide project quality control (drawing and code review)
  • Pursue opportunities to grow the business and broaden client base
  • Lead business development effort (standards, process, marketing, expansion of services, networking)
  • Review and approve all invoicing and business finances
  • Manage day-to-day office operations

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Interior Designer or Registered Architect in the State of MN (or ability to obtain certification/ registration within 1 year of hiring)
  • Experience with tenant improvement/ commercial projects and project management a must
  • Desire to lead and grow an interior design firm
  • Management and project marketing experience a plus
  • Thorough understanding of relevant codes and standards (IBC, MN State Building Code, BOMA Standards, ANSI Standards)
  • Understanding of the development of construction documentation.
  • Computer skills (AutoCAD, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel), familiarity with PowerPoint, PhotoShop, and Project Management Software
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Commercial Interior Design
