Event Coordinator

We are seeking a reliable and organized Event Coordinator (Contractor) to assist with planning and executing in-person events for the Leaders are Readers program. This role is critical to ensuring events run smoothly and provide a positive experience for all participants.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate logistics for monthly Leaders are Readers events.
  • Set up and take down event materials (tables, signage, literature, etc.).
  • Oversee the event registration table and welcome attendees.
  • Collect attendance data and ensure accurate tracking.
  • Distribute and gather post-event surveys.
  • Occasionally staff a booth at community events for program outreach (as needed).

Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation to various event sites.
  • Comfortable engaging with children, families, and community members.
  • Ability to lift event materials (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Prior event coordination experience is a plus, but not required.

Schedule:
  • Contract-based hourly role.
  • Must be available every first Saturday (9 AM – 2 PM)
  • Community event dates and times vary; flexibility required.
  • Occasional evening or weekend availability preferred.
