The Citizens League election series, The Voting Booth Chronicles, continues on Wednesday, June 29th with What If You Were In Charge? How Campaigns Can Be Used to Engage and Inspire. Headlines often highlight the divisiveness of political campaigns, focusing on the worst candidate behavior, harshest insults, and most toxic feuds. It’s no wonder that many Americans tune out and even choose not to participate at all. However, it doesn’t have to be this way. Minnesota has a tradition of high voter turnout and engagement and well-run, decent elections. Minnesota civic leaders and former and current campaign strategists come together at this event to discuss how campaigns can be used to engage, motivate, and inspire. Panelists: Justin Buoen, Senior VP, New Partners; previous manager of Senator Amy Klobuchar 2012 campaign Jake Loesch, Account Executive, Goff Public; formerly communications director Minnesotans United for All Families Representative Jenifer Loon, District 48B
