"Make It OK" Lunch and Learn
1 in 17 Americans has a serious mental illness. 1 out of 4 will be affected at some time during their lives. Yet, many people don't get help. Partly because we are uncomfortable talking about mental illness. Let's change that. Let's "Make It OK" to start talking, and remove the stigma. Join me for lunch (no charge) and a presentation about what mental illness is and what it isn't, about how to talk with and about those experiencing mental illness, about how we can get involved to make a difference. Information will be available about resources for help, and ways to volunteer to make a difference. ?Make It OK? is a campaign to reduce the stigma of mental illnesses. It is backed by a host of Minnesota organizations which have pledged their commitment to change hearts and minds about the misperceptions of mental illnesses by encouraging open conversations and education on the topic. www.makeitok.org
