About Us

Elsa's House of Sleep is a full-service furniture business that fulfills the up-to-date design and quality furnishings needs for institutional and residential clients on a budget. We offer both Commercial and Residential furniture so we can furnish just about any space imaginable. We are a community-based business that employs many people from the diverse communities in which we serve, and we are involved with many civic and cultural organizations. We were founded in 1997 (26 years ago) by Elsa Rezene, who immigrated to Minnesota from Eritrea in 1966 and we are the longest running Black-owned furniture store in Minnesota. We were awarded the Small Business of the Year award in 2022 by the Midway Chamber of Commerce and we were a finalist for the Twin Cities Business Magazine’s 2021 Minnesota Family Business Awards
