DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the 2012 Wayside House Gala\, "She Who Has Hope\, Has Everything." This year the event will feature musical entertainment by local jazz artist Thomasina\, KSTP (Channel 5) Investigative Reporter\, Beth McDonough as emcee\, dinner and silent auction\, in addition to a live auction and direct giving moment by Fladeboe Auctions.\n\n\n\nWayside House is where women recover sobriety\, identity\, home\, family and community. Established in 1954\, Wayside House is among the nation's oldest substance abuse treatment centers devoted exclusively to the gender-specific needs of women.\n\n\n\nFunds raised from this event will go toward the Wayside House general fund that will pay for essential services not covered by grants or state contracts\, such as:\n\n	\n		Pro bono residential and nonresidential substance abuse and mental health treatment for women in poverty (more than $25\,000 spent on these services in 2011)\n	\n		Family programming such as Family Treatment\, the Celebrating Families!  program\, and family therapy sessions designed to keep families together and repair family bonds (more than $15\,000 spent on these services in 2011)\n	\n		Recovery support services such as employment readiness\, housing application fees\, computer training\, and GED testing and assessments (more than $12\,000 spent on these services in 2011)\n	\n		Medical expenses not covered by Minnesota's General Assistance Medical Care (GAMC) such as dentures\, glasses\, medications\, etc. (more than $10\,000 spent on these services in 2011)\n\nThese services are critical to helping women and their families in poverty   and with lifelong histories of addiction   to achieve and maintain their sobriety\, reunify and rebuild their families\, and live independently. In addition\, services such as these are essential to increasing women's self-esteem\, self-confidence\, and self-sufficiency.
