About Us

It is a delight to introduce you to St. Paul Ballet (SPB), an intergenerational ballet school providing community-centered dance education within one of MN's most diverse neighborhoods, St. Paul's Hamline-Midway area. Founded in 1997, St. Paul Ballet's mission is to perform a vibrant repertory with a passion for the highest level of excellence, provide the finest dance education, and reduce barriers to engagement in the art of dance. With low-to-no cost adaptive classes for all ages, experience levels, and physical abilities, SPB programming ensures that all people have access to the beauty and joy of ballet.

Organizational Goals:

1. Remove barriers to ballet education
2. Ensure equal access to artistic and educational excellence
3. Uplift and inspire marginalized populations through ballet
4. Unite audiences and communities through the art of dance

SPB's Youth Ballet builds the foundation for college-level programs, conservatory, or professional careers. Participants receive up to 17 weekly hours (after school/weekends) of dedicated training for 9 months a year, for up to 5 years. Our faculty is intentionally built of Teaching Artists- educators who integrate the creative process into the classroom, while remaining professionally active in their creative field. While MN is home to many inspiring dancers, the additional nuance of education experience/training makes SPB’s faculty unique among our peers.
